You can't base a player's ability on their international record. Steven gerrard is a world class player, you've obviously not watched him play for liverpool. No one can emulate the way he plays. I don't know who you would consider to be world class, forlan?golden ball award so he MUST be The best judging by your criteria. Also, I don't think a move to real would be good for gerrard.

@loloskiski Not while he continues to play for a English team he isn't. David Beckham didn't become a world class player until he joined Real, and his days were limited then. Stevie needs to get out now before his career is over and realise that there is no future in English football.

@loloskiski I apologise. It looks like I'm going to simply have to eat my words now. Steven Gerrard is the only England captain to lift the world cup after Bobby Moore, when England won the World Cup in South Africa beating Spain 4-1 in the final. Rooney grabbed a hat-trick and won the golden boot award making him the Tournaments top scorer with 15 goals. John Terry won the best defender of the tournment award and Rob Green best goalkeeper. Sorry but I was completely wrong about everything.
